What “Your” Independence Day Is Really About

First, I would like to wish everyone in the United States, a very happy and safe Independence Day. On this day, as well as everyday, take the time to remember our troops, who continue to protect our freedom to daily pursue a great life, liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness.

Also, please take the time to remember the many souls around the world who fight, dream, pray, and die to one day enjoy the privilege to enjoy the same basic freedoms afforded to us.
However, on this day, I want you to look at freedom from a much closer perspective. How free and independent are you? Are you being held prisoner in an unhealthy body that does not feel good and lets you enjoy the quality of life you truly seek?

Are you still working at a job that does not inspire you, nor highlight your true potential? Are you feeling trapped in a relationship that’s physically and/or mentally abusive?

Does the fear of change keep you from getting or finishing your education, taking on a new and much better job, change careers, ask that hottie at the office out for lunch, make peace with a friend or relative you have not spoken to in years, commit to the one person who is truly there for you through thick and then.

Better yet, how about the fear to stop eating foods that you know do not make you feel good, choose your own spirituality despite what others think, vote for the public official you feel speaks to you, despite popular opinion, stop depending on smoking, food, drinking, and other vices in order to escape the realities of life, instead of being a true warrior, and facing life’s daily challenges head on?
As you ponder these thoughts on this day North America celebrates the concept of freedom, celebrate the power of knowing you have the power to face any challenge or fear, with razor-sharp focus, determination, and a “never take no for an answer” attitude.
Please share your comments below, and let me know what freedom and independence mean to you, and how you take steps toward your own personal freedom and independence.
Your training tip for today, “Free Your Mind & The Rest Will Follow.”

Have a safe holiday, and God bless our troops,
Sincere~

  1. Great blog post!

I especially like the ‘prisoner in your own unhealthy body’.

That’s a topic that I feel extremely passionate about. We have this incredible gift of freedom thanks to the many people who fought for it, yet we choose to take away our own freedom by inflicting restrictions on ourselves.

If you have abused your body and health to the point where you can not hike up a beautiful mountain, climb up the stairs leading to an ancient Japanese Temple, snorkel around the Great Barrier Reef, play with your children without running out of breath after 5 minutes, wear cloths that want to because they don’t come in your size, make love with the lights on because you don’t want your partner to see you naked, go on a date because you are embarrassed about how you look…

If you can’t do those things, then you are not free.

All of the above are worth fighting for. Fight for these freedoms. Don’t trap yourself in an unhealthy body.

Step outside of your comfort zones. Your comfort zone is your prison wall. You must go beyond it. Expand your possibilities.

Great post Sincere! Enjoy your day

  2. Freedom? That’s simple when it comes to the freedom the USA was founded on. It’s — it’s being free OF (excessive gov’t control) as much as it’s freedom FROM (laws and rights afforded by our Constitution.)

It’s the ability to live life, under liberty & for the pursuit of happiness.

Ours is the greatest country on earth. As you so aptly put it “many souls around the world who fight, dream, pray, and die to one day enjoy the privilege to enjoy the same basic freedoms afforded to us.”

There is unlimited opportunity here in the USA, no matter what the mainstream media & political demagogs try to force down our throats.

But therein is our current danger. The country is only as great as the dreams of its people — NOT it’s politicians. Instead of looking to the government and politicians to “save” us, “change” our lives and powder our asses — we need to step up and realize the power to do all that and more is in OUR hands.

Giving away that self-sufficient, confidence-building, success-generating power is the most grievous mistake you can make. Each of us has been created with unique and potent skills, talents and gifts. Reliance on hand outs and suppression by excessive controls both squash those gifts and cause one to live small, doing little for yourself… and even less for those around you.

Our founding fathers knew that these were the freedoms that count. So much so, they based the declaration of independence and our constitution on it.

Happy birthday America. I’m proud to be living in the greatest country ever to be established on this earth.
